Parent Testimonials
Atlas Learning Academy is a fantastic hands on school, it feels like a big family. The kids all get along so well and work together within different grade levels. Altas's smaller class sizes and their high quality teachers should set the standard for all schools. The quality of education our daughter has received these last 2 years is impressive. We are so happy we made the decision to enroll our daughter at Atlas.

"My son has attended Atlas for Grade 4 and is now starting Grade 5. I had looked into Atlas at the beginning of last year, as I was very concerned at the class sizes in the regular school stream. Within 3 months of starting at Atlas, he was caught up to other children in his grade and is now absolutely thriving. It was incredible to see the change in his learning habits and to see him even challenge himself, when it comes to school work. The small class size means he receives more attention and his teacher really knows him and what tools he needs to learn. Not every child fits into the traditional student role and Atlas has an amazing ability to adjust their teaching style for each student to ensure their success. The school is like a family. Whilst my son has a dedicated teacher, he is more than welcome to talk to any member of staff and they go above and beyond to give him the help or guidance he needs. I also appreciate how my husband and I get to take an active part in his learning. I get almost daily feedback from his teacher when picking my son up and I have always felt welcome to chat with staff whenever they are available. There is a real sense of caring from the school and that is invaluable as a parent. In the environment Atlas has created, my son now approaches learning with confidence and that is something that will carry over into his adult life. I’ve heard the best gift you can give your child is an education. I feel our family made the greatest decision when we chose Atlas, as they have laid the foundation for his future."

We believe the second most important decision that we made as a parents - apart from deciding to have our children in the first place - is deciding which school for our son to enrol in. As parents we did a lot of research prior to enrolling our son to Atlas Learning Academy! We are so glad that we chose the right school for our son – a school that has way more than 14 great reasons (listed on the school’s website) to choose it for the kids. This is a school where focuses are put onto the passion of the students, time is not wasted on things that kids may never use, students are challenged through hands-on projects, incredible and knowledgeable teachers help students to develop their natural abilities to grow stronger intellectually and emotionally, field trips are conducted to give students educational experience away from their regular school environment, and many more. Our son has completed kindergarten to grade 2nd at Atlas so far and is currently enrolled in grade 3rd. We are still committed to sending him to Atlas for upcoming grades and enrol our daughter to this school soon - who is just 3 years old.
With all the great efforts by teachers and staff of the Atlas Learning Academy that they put into to excel the students in their academic and physical educations, our son is doing so great and we are so glad that we made the right decision for enrolling him into this school – we believe our decision would put him on a path toward lifelong learning, a prestigious college education and a successful career in times to come.
Well-done Atlas Learning Academy for everything you do for the kids!
Congratulations on celebrating your 10th Anniversary!

"For our children, Atlas Learning Academy is the best decision we’ve made as parents. We started our daughter in a public school for kindergarten. I frequently asked her teacher for updates as to how she was doing. We were always told she was good and there was nothing to worry about. It was the first week of June, when her teacher pulled me aside one day as I was picking her up, and told me that we should really consider having our daughter repeat kindergarten. She didn’t learn anything from the time she spent there and wasn’t able to read a word. I had enough and started to look around; there had to be something better. That’s when we found Atlas. We brought our daughter to see Ms Helen, the principal. She gave us a tour of her school and told us about their curriculum. She took our daughter and asked her a few questions, things that she should be able to answer after completing kindergarten. Ms Helen recommended that we put our daughter in kindergarten for another year at her school. Our daughter is now is grade two in Atlas, and each day she amazes me with everything she is learning. She is also right on track with the rest of her class and is doing very well. There is such a benefit from the small class sizes and the one on one attention, that each students receives. Our son was very lucky, he was able to start preschool in Atlas and has now moved into kindergarten. The money that we spend in sending our kids to Atlas, is the best investment we could have made! I would recommend this school to anyone!"

We are immensely happy with our decision to place our children in Atlas Learning Academy. We are going into our 5th year with the school, and have come through the preschool program, kindergarten and now the lower elementary grades. The school's anti-bullying policies are top notch and the student to teacher ratio cannot be beat! We love that they have dedicated gym space in their building as well. Our kids quite enjoy the monthly walks to the public library, and the organized field trips. We would recommend this school to every parent!"

"Changing from RVS to Atlas Learning Academy was the best thing ever for us. I love the small classroom sizes. It allows the children to get the help and attention they need. I love how the kids learn at the true level they are. If they need a challenge, the teachers are willing to challenge them and help them achieve better, not just what is expected for the grade level they are in!! I love how they are able to learn based on their individual personalities; my daughter is very artistic and they allow her to be artistic while still learning. She has grown so much in the short time she has been there. Also, it is nice that they are not sent home with hours of homework, because they actually get time to work on what they are learning at school They have home reading and spelling tests to practice, which is just the right amount of "homework" for a busy, young family.
They get outside and enjoy fresh air every single day and make fitness and health important to the children. I love how they get involved in things that are going on around in the Community and bring out the true meaning of school spirit. All the kids get along, the older grades look out for the younger ones, where usually they are taught to just play with kids in their own grade. There is also a mutual respect between the children and the teachers. My daughter has a bond with all the adults and not just her teacher. I am so very glad we made that move. I would recommend any family to come join this family!!!"

"My daughter was enrolled in Atlas starting from kindergarten, after considering our school options. We were mortified to hear of the growing class sizes and worried about our daughter struggling at school and not being able to get the assistance she needs. We researched our options and was beyond shocked with Atlas vs the public system and other private schools in Calgary. Our daughter has a very strong personality and can sometimes be difficult, we found that not only her teacher, but all the staff are simply fantastic with her. They work with her when she is having a moment and have been a huge support for her when she needs it.
The staff treat everyone with such kindness and patience. The staff we found work so very hard to not only challenge each student, but also maintain fantastic communication with us as parents. We always know exactly how our daughter is doing and what she can do better and how to improve herself. As well, we noticed immediately the sense of community! Being a smaller school the staff knows all the parents (and remembers previous students and parents) and the families of the children...even those not in their grade/class. We found our daughter has been right at home since she started and cares a great deal about her classmates, both in and out of her grade level. The small class sizes ensures no student is left behind, and if more challenging material is needed, it is easily provided or if a child is struggling, time is made to ensure that child succeeds. It has pushed our daughter to work harder and strive for great things, all while not forcing her to learn in only one way. Her teachers allow her to learn in a way that works best for her. This has given her such a huge confidence boost, that she is always eager to learn and progress and does not get discouraged when she does not get the correct answer. Her homework (weekly spelling test and home reading) is enough to ensure she maintains/builds skills, but not so much that we as busy parents find it difficult to complete and struggle to stay on top of it. There are ample opportunities for physical activity (in school gym) and outdoor play along with trips to the library & other field trips.
We cannot say enough about how impressed we have been from the day we came in for a school tour, when we were looking at preschool options to today. The quality of education cannot be beat! We cannot even think of ever taking her out to the downgrade of the public sysytem. The small classes have been a true blessing and from what we have seen and heard a rarity in these days. Also the fees are insanely reasonable, and the different payment plans make it affordable even on the tightest of budgets. "
